The majority of books I read have one of two settings: the US or some fantasy world. I'd love to read more books set elsewhere--in real, non-US places--and I'll be asking for your recs at the end of this post! I included two settings that aren't exactly Earthly, and you'll notice that I'm missing one very big continent (because I haven't read enough books taking place there). I also tried to include books that were mostly realistic and contemporary, and I attempted to focus on books with some focus on their setting...but I couldn't think of many. ANYWHO, here are ten (or so) of them.
What are your favorite books set outside of the US? Also, please give me recs! I need more books set in Asia.
Africa
Australia
Europe
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein / Anna and the French Kiss and Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins / His Fair Assassin by Robin LaFevers / Undead by Kirsty McKay / Shades of Magic by V.E. Schwab
South America
Outer Space
Neverland
I'm including Neverland because I'm Peter Pan trash and IT'S REAL AND YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE.

Fun set up! I really like how you separated this. Love seeing 'Anna' on your list (it's made lots this week - YAY!), and am curious about Grave Mercy too.
ReplyDeleteCool list of books! I loved the His Fair Assassin Trilogy by Robin Lafevers, but forgot to add it to my TTT this week.

I included Neverland too in my list. It's TOTALLY real! xD
ReplyDeleteI was really disappointed with Stolen! I also have a couple from Europe on my list! :-)
ReplyDeleteCode Name Verity was on my list this week too. I can't believe I missed A Darker Shade of Magic off my list, I literally just read it and loved it.
