Top Ten Tuesday (162)

is a weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish.

This Tuesday's theme is...

Ah, gut punchers. They hurt like hell, take your breath away, and are sometimes a total surprise. And because gut punchers are so fantastic and feel so wonderful, today I'm going to recommend ten of them to you. (I've really only chosen standalones since gut punches tend to come later in a series, and I purposely didn't mention some big and obvious books, like The Fault in Our Stars and The Book That Shall Not Be Named.) From slapbang endings to waterfalls of tears to plot twists pulled out of a magician's hat, here are ten books to read if you would like a punch in the gut.

What books are your favorite gut punchers?

  1. LOL at ʻThe Book that Shall Not Be Named.ʻ All I have to say is SAAAAME. Haha.

Tiger Lily still holds my heart in itʻs cold, cold grasp but itʻs one of my favorite books. Itʻs always the good ones that hurt you, huh? I canʻt wait to read Never, Never and Blackhearts!

I will probably never recover from All the Bright Places. *cries a million lakes of tears* Also Code Name Verity, omg. And I just read Damage Done and...um. WELL THEN. That was like a smack in the face. XD Here's my TTT!
