Today's theme is...Howl's Moving Castle!
My obsession with Howl's Moving Castle began when I'd seen things here and there about it and finally requested the movie from the library. I watched it, and then I watched it like every day for at least a week. Despite warnings that if you love the movie you'll hate the book (and vice versa), I then requested the book by Diana Wynne Jones (which the movie is based off of) from the library and eventually read it. The two are definitely different, but I am a fan of both (though I am definitely partial to the movie).
Since watching Howl's I've requested a number of Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki films from the library. So far I've watched The Secret World of Arrietty, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and Ponyo. (Technically I've also watched Castle in the Sky, but I did so while multitasking and didn't really pay attention, whoops.) And so today I am sharing my obsession with you--and hopefully convincing you to read or watch Howl's Moving Castle if you haven't done so already because you are missing out--by scaring the hell out of your wallet with all of these fantastic Howl's things. I don't know about you, but I may need another tote or two.
Tattoo | Young Howl Clock | Howl's Jacket | Nesting Dolls | Book | Portal Mug | Candle | Howl at War Print |
Fact: I think that Howl print is the first thing I really saw for Howl's Moving Castle, and that was a couple years ago. I've been wanting to see it for that long, and all because of that picture. (Which I think would make an excellent tattoo, by the way.) And that eyeshadow? OH MY GOSH. The shop has it for other characters too and EEP. Also, that tote bag. The print may not clearly be Howl's, BUT it has an anatomical heart--which I'm also obsessed with--and I swear it's meant to look like Howl's actual moving castle. And pretend I put the soundtrack on here because it's fantastic.
I have, I loved that movie so much! Spirited Away was also great! I've been meaning to read the book. Studio Ghibli has such fantastic movies.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I feel about these movies. I watched Ponyo because my brother loves it and I found it SO trippy! Lol
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll give this one a shot too. I love your items though and this is such a fun feature! I can't wait to see what you choose next!
I really need to watch this movie. I've missed out on a lot of Studio Ghibli movies for some odd reason. The book is only $6 on Amazon so I went ahead and bought it! Thanks for sharing. :)
