Top Ten Tuesday (153)

is a weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish.

This Tuesday's theme is...

Long time no post, Top Ten Tuesday-ers! Unfortunately, school has been kicking my ass and I've had time for pretty much nothing. But despite having a paper due in a couple hours, I was determined to get a post up (don't worry; it's just a rough draft and the professor mentioned something about an extension if we need one). Today is all about debuts since we're almost to 2016 (?!?!?!), and I'm sure I'm missing a book or two, but there are so many debuts, and here are ten I'm anticipating most. (Note: I'm not mentioning Blackhearts because I've already read--and really, really liked--it.)

The Girl from Everywhere: Nyx is with her father on his time-traveling ship, but messing with the past can change the future--and her very existence.

The Darkest Corners: The aftermath of a murder years after it happened, and the hunt for a killer.

Stone Field: A pre-Civil War era novel inspired by Wuthering Heights and featuring much romance.

A Fierce and Subtle Poison: Set in the Caribbean, this magical realism novel has to do with a legend about a cursed girl with green skin and grass for hair.

The Loose Ends List: I constantly forget what this is about (some cruise ship that's like a last hurrah before death or something) because COVER.

Ivory and Bone: PREHISTORIC PREHISTORIC PREHISTORIC.

Kill the Boy Band: A group of girls (Directioners?) obsessed with a boy band accidentally kidnap one of the members, and it's their least favorite one.

Dreamology: The boy Alice dreams about shows up in class one day, but he's not like his dream version at all.

Arrows: Cupid's son shoots a faulty arrow and puts Karma in a relationship that's not the best...and she gets pregnant.

Even if the Sky Falls: Julie spends a night of Mardi Gras exploring New Orleans with a boy she just met--but then a hurricane heads their way.

What debuts are your anticipating most?

  1. THE GIRL FROM EVERYWHERE AND THE DARKEST CORNERS THOUGH RIGHT? ARGH the pain is real. I can't get over how many books I've added to my to-read list on Goodreads in the last 24 hours alone while reading all the posts for this week's Top Ten Tuesday. I've never heard of A Fierce and Subtle Poison but dang IT SOUNDS SO GOOD *hugs you for introducing me to such a treasure* By the way, your blog is adorable! xx

  9. Ooh, I spot lots of amazing titles on your list! I'm excited for all of the books you picked, but I'm glad you put "A Fierce and Subtle Poison" on your list, because it definitely needs more attention than it's getting! Great list Rachel! :) Here's my TTT if you want to check it out :)

  10. The Girl from Everywhere looks like it could be lots of fun — time travel books always have so much potential! (although also, can make your head hurt if you spend too long thinking about the paradoxes involved, lol). I'm wondering what tone Arrows will take, the premise is so outrageous but it also sounds like it could deal with some more serious issues (like teenage pregnancy) so it'll be interesting to see.
