YESSS. What a fantastic idea for a Top Ten Tuesday topic. Oh, dear Book Genie, I have MANY WISHES FOR YOU. And I get ten, which is even better. Also, Genie, I'm sorry, because I have so many bookish wishes and I won't be able to wish for your freedom. I'm too greedy and horrible to do that, because BOOKS, so sorry not sorry.*rubs lamp* OH MAGNIFICENT BOOK GENIE, here are my ten bookish wishes. (Please and thank youuu.)
The Beast's Library
Seriously, who doesn't want this library? It's, like, neverending. And it's filled with SO MANY BOOKS. And it's in a castle. And it's a Disney thing, so you can't lose.
I WILL GO DOWN WITH MY SHIPS, but I can't swim and I'm not a mermaid, so it'd be swell if my ships were endgame.
My precious characters are not allowed to die
Because then Rachel is sad, and my babies are DEAD, and that's not good, Genie. Not. Good.
Own every edition ever of my favorite books
HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE? Let's start with the Morganville Vampires and Throne of Glass series. Get on that please, oh wise Genie.
A device to travel to my fav fictional worlds
Fine print: All my characters will be there, and we will be besties, but I cannot be cursed, injured, or killed when in these worlds (and neither can my fictional friends, because rude).
Good books may never end
There's something very bittersweet about a good book ending, but can you imagine would it be like if it never ended?
DINOSAURS
Dear Genie: Why the fuck aren't there any dinosaurs in my books? Do I need to rub a fossil? A meteor?
Magical bookshelf space
Genie, my shelves have no room. Books are on the floor. I NEED MORE SHELF SPACE, IT IS VERY URGENT.
All the swagger ever
Swagger: All the things representing a fandom Rachel is a fan of. For example, she needs all things having to do with the term fire-breathing bitch-queen. Therefore she wants all things related to Throne of Glass.
Fix the wait for new books
I know the wait is actually part of what makes a book good; it's part of the experience. But sometimes it really sucks, okay? So maybe douse with me some magical, harmless haze that makes the wait for books not so gruelingly bad for my impatient self?
Basically, books just need to go Rachel's Way and all will be well.
What wishes would you ask the Book Genie to grant?
Those first two wishes = 100 x YES! Also, bookshelf space? I am always in need of this. :)
ReplyDeleteThis list is perfect! I definitely aspire to have Beast's library but I would need to be pretty rich to even have a room that big to make my own library...lord knows I need the space for my books though! I wish I could put some kind of protection spell on my favorite characters!

ReplyDeleteHonestly I feel the 'not enough shelf space and all the swag ever' Like YES! These are very good wishes! Especially since publishers have stepped up their game and made the coolest swag ever! I mean the ARC boxes are probably the things that I want the most!
ReplyDeleteHaha I like your idea to fix the book wait! I know what you mean, there's something good about anticipation but sometimes it's toooooo painful. The Beast's library really is the best, esp the castle part! I have a library on my list too but a little cozier :) YES ENDGAME SHIIIIPS. That would be the best! And the magical bookshelf space. I saw someone mention a Mary Poppins bag kind of shelf. Or Hermione's bag I guess. It'd be perfect. Love your list!
