This Tuesday's theme is...
Oh, series. I love them because I constantly get to return to a world and characters I (hopefully) love. But sometimes time gets in the way, or a TBR full of other books, and I don't get around to finishing a series. Here are ten series that I own at least one book from and that I still need to finish. (This list could've been way longer; whoops!)
I started the Outcast Season series years ago because Rachel Caine's the author and I love the Morganville Vampires. I definitely liked it, but I never got around to reading the rest of the books--I think I only read two? I loved Of Poseidon, but the sequel was a doozy and I just haven't had a chance to read the finale. I didn't love Shadow and Bone, but I wasn't the biggest fan of Siege and Storm, and eventually I'll read Ruin and Rising, but I'm not in a rush (except to figure out why was everyone freaking out around the same point in the book). The Need series is one I started when I first got into reading, and I picked up the finale from the library years ago but never ended up finishing it--and not because I wasn't liking it. I liked Under the Never Sky enough, but I did not care much for its sequel, and eventually I'll get around to the last book. I loved Incarnate much more than I thought I would, and Asunder was okay, and I really need to read Infinite. I've only read the first four Harry Potter books--I was in elementary school, not as much of a reader, and didn't have the patience to wait for the fifth book! I loved Grave Mercy and Dark Triumph, both of which I read earlier this year, and I'm kicking myself for not having read Mortal Heart yet. The Flappers trilogy is another series I started forever ago, and I just need to read the last book already. I read Daughter of Smoke and Bone and liked it, but I didn't need to read the second book, and they're larger books I don't exactly have time for.
What finished series do you still need to finish reading?

ReplyDeleteI also need to finish reading the Grisha trilogy - I quite enjoyed the first two books, but still have to get to Ruin & Rising, for some reason!

ReplyDeleteI've only read four of the Harry Potter books too. I've been halfway done with the fifth book for over a year now. Just haven't been able to pick it back up.
ReplyDeleteSomeone might kill for that Incarnate HC. Fortunately I already have one... You should definitely read Infinite. But this is coming from a diehard Jodi Meadows fan lol. I honestly have no idea what part everyone was freaking out at in Ruin and Rising. And I read it. Color me confused. Great list!

Oh my gosh, you have SO MANY series on here that I loved. The Grisha, His Fair Assassin, Under the Never Sky, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, HARRY POTTER. I really hope you finish them, even if you weren't a fan of the first books. I think you'd love Mortal Heart too! That tied for my favorite of the series. Loved those books.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't finished the Syrena Legacy series either, but I actually really disliked the first book, so I'm not rushing to read the rest.
