This Tuesday's theme is...
This week's topic is slightly tricky, because I had to decide what "didn't click with" means. Did I not connect with a character? Did I not like a character? But if I didn't like a character, was it because I didn't like the character, or because they're not supposed to be likable? What I ended up doing was going through the books I've read in the past year or so that had main characters I just didn't really "click" with--in other words, and for the most part, I just had a hard time caring for the person whose POV I was reading from. I mean, I liked some of these books--and I'm actually currently reading one of them--but the characters weren't very clickable.
Which characters do you have troubles clicking with?

The only book I've read on your list is IMPOSSIBLE and I honestly can't even remember the characters. Sigh.

I loved Impossible! It's been a long time since I've read it, though. I thought The Murder Complex was awesome.It was very dark. Trouble is a Friend of Mine is up soon in my tbr.

ReplyDeleteMe too with Something Strange and Deadly! I mean I liked Eleanor, but not a lot? Like I had zero reason to connect to her poshness and yeah. *shrugs* That's the only one I've rea don your list, though! SHAME ON ME! Here's my TTT!
ReplyDeleteI DNF'D Something Strange and Deadly a couple weeks ago largely because I wasn't clicking with the MC either. I did like The Cage and Cora. I love this topic - so much discussion potential.

The only books I've read on the list are The Cage and Something Strange and Deadly, and I really liked Cora and Eleanor. Some of the others are on my TBR list, so I'll have to read them and then see what I think of them!
