This Tuesday's theme is...
This post was kind of hard, because I wouldn't say I was a huge reader back in the day. But then some books came to mind and voila! Ten books I (remember existing) and would love to revisit!
I don't think I read
The Secret of Nimh but have heard enough about it that I really want to. I don't remember much at all of
Poppy or Andrew Clements's books. I own 39 of the Puppy Patrol books and want my own King Street Kennel because of them. (And yes, I have the cardboard kennel with a bunch of the dogs from the series.)
Skeleton Man is super creepy--pretty sure the guy eats people. I only read the first four Harry Potter books and that was over ten years ago, so I really need to read those as soon as possible. I used to love Eleanor Estes's books, though I never finished The Moffats series. I loved the whole dog thing going on in
Star in the Storm. And I Spy was the
shit. (Does anyone remember the series that was like I Spy, but cooler--objects made towns, buildings, etc.?)
Also, I'm trying to remember a book I read in middle school. The cover had a bright pink--like, eighties or nineties--frame, with some design probably featuring bright purple; it was old school. The book itself was kind of spacey or alieny or
something, I think. There may have been a small group of kids trying to escape, and they end up in some sort of tribe or something? I remember bits and pieces of nothing of this book, and I've been wanting to know what the hell the book is called, so if you have any idea what this book might be, please let me know!

Which childhood books would you most like to revisit?
Nice list!

This is a list that I need to read more off. We had a ton of I Spy books as a kid and I love the Harry Potter series. Other than that I haven't read any of these. My poor TBR just keeps getting longer. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing you list!
Amanda
I didn't even realize Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH had been retitled into The Secret of NIMH and made into an animated movie until your post! I thought about including that story in my own TTT list, but I realized around #35 that I would have to start cutting my list down! Here's mine, if you're interested: http://www.willreadforfeels.com/lists/top-10-books-from-my-childhood-i-would-love-to-revisit/
ReplyDeleteSometimes you can tell a persons age by the list. Most of these weren't even published when I was a kid! Maybe my list will add to your TBR. http://ebogie.blogspot.com/2015/03/top-ten-tuesday-childhood-favs.html
ReplyDeleteYAY for Harry Potter! I didn't read any of the others :-(
