Kristen: …the book The Handmaid’s Tale. I feel so sheepish saying that because The Handmaid’s Tale is EPIC and has become a cornerstone in literature, but why not aim high, right? They’re both stories about societies where women face severe discrimination, where they’ve been reduced to tools for their male counterparts. They’re both stories about the importance of hope and strength, too.

Rachel: The character from your book you'd want to spend the day with most is…

Kristen: …Brax. Because he’s the coolest, most loyal wolf/friend in the world. I think, anyway.

Rachel: Your favorite chapter in The Glass Arrow is…

Kristen: …the last one. One of my favorite lines in the book is in that very final scene: “We are strong and proud and beautiful, and there are not enough stars in the night sky to measure our worth.” It embodies the spirit of the story – the hope Aya has in her heart.
