Blog Tour: The Glass Arrow by Kristen Simmons

Hello, readers of the universe! Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Kristen Simmons's The Glass Arrow! You maaay have heard of Kristen Simmons before--she wrote the Article 5 series! In The Glass Arrow, she's delving into a world where women are sold for their breeding rights, which sounds horrible but like an interesting read. Kristen is here today with a fun little post, and of course I'll tell you all about the book and author, and there's a giveaway you may want to claim an arrow in. Enjoy!

Fill in the Blanks
RachelIf you could compare The Glass Arrow to any song, movie, etc., it'd be…

Kristenthe book The Handmaid’s Tale. I feel so sheepish saying that because The Handmaid’s Tale is EPIC and has become a cornerstone in literature, but why not aim high, right? They’re both stories about societies where women face severe discrimination, where they’ve been reduced to tools for their male counterparts. They’re both stories about the importance of hope and strength, too.

RachelThe character from your book you'd want to spend the day with most is…

KristenBrax. Because he’s the coolest, most loyal wolf/friend in the world. I think, anyway.

RachelYour favorite chapter in The Glass Arrow is…

Kristenthe last one. One of my favorite lines in the book is in that very final scene: “We are strong and proud and beautiful, and there are not enough stars in the night sky to measure our worth.” It embodies the spirit of the story – the hope Aya has in her heart.

RachelCoolest thing to be made out of glass would be…

Kristenan arrow of course!

RachelYou're stuck on an island and the only book you have with you is…

Kristenhopefully a book prominently featuring HOW TO SURVIVE ON A DESERT ISLAND in the title.

The Handmaid’s Tale meets Blood Red Road in The Glass Arrow, the story of Aya, who lives with a small group of women on the run from the men who hunt them, men who want to auction off breeding rights to the highest bidder.

In a world where females are scarce and are hunted, then bought and sold at market for their breeding rights, 15-year old Aya has learned how to hide. With a ragtag bunch of other women and girls, she has successfully avoided capture and eked out a nomadic but free existence in the mountains. But when Aya’s luck runs out and she’s caught by a group of businessmen on a hunting expedition, fighting to survive takes on a whole new meaning.

  1. I loved the author's answers to these fill in the blank questions, like that very pretty sentence about stars in the night sky, and then the desert island answer was just funny and clever, it makes me want to give her book a try. Thanks for the giveaway!
