I have yet to read anything by this author, though I do own the first book in the trilogy she's known for. I had a friend tell me this book was really, really good, but I wasn't sold; this isn't the kind of book I read much of. But then I read the beginning during the YA Scavenger Hunt, and I read the character's voice, and I was sold.

There's death all around us.
We just don't pay attention.
Until we do.
The last time Lex was happy, it was before. When she had a family that was whole. A boyfriend she loved. Friends who didn't look at her like she might break down at any moment.
Now she's just the girl whose brother killed himself. And it feels like that's all she'll ever be.
As Lex starts to put her life back together, she tries to block out what happened the night Tyler died. But there's a secret she hasn't told anyone-a text Tyler sent, that could have changed everything.
Lex's brother is gone. But Lex is about to discover that a ghost doesn't have to be real to keep you from moving on.
From New York Times bestselling author Cynthia Hand, The Last Time We Say Goodbye is a gorgeous and heart-wrenching story of love, loss, and letting go.

Ahhh, can't wait to read it! I've only read the first in the Unearthly series, so I still have to finish that. :)

This sounds really good! I was looking at this page for like 5 minutes trying to figure out where I recognized Cynthia Hand from. Finally after going to Goodreads I realized she's the author of the Unearthly books! Those have been on my TBR. This new one will be cool to read for anyone who's read her other books because it's like a total different genre. Always cool when authors can whip out some paranormal, fantasy series and then pop off a contemporary. Awesome choice & it's going on my TBR for sure!
