Here's a tattoo with a quote from a very popular classic author, plus something that's shooting...
Danielle
Design: Ray Bradbury quote, shooting star.
Story: My grandfather wasn't a demonstrative man. I loved him to death, but he missed a lot of visits and always sent a $50 check for Christmas. Children made him uncomfortable. So when he showed up at our door with a 1960s copy of Podkane of Mars, it not only meant a lot, but started a life long love of Scifi and Mars. (Even though I was seven. Don't give children Heinlein.)
After he passed, I wanted to get my first tattoo in his memory, I wanted something bookish, and I wanted something space themed. The Stories of Ray Bradbury was really influential when I was a teen and I fell in love with the last few lines from Kaleidoscope, "'I wonder", he said, "if anyone'll see me?"' It's the dying thought of a man who feels his life didn't matter, but it did. It's about leaving a mark in unexpected ways, like a gruff ex-preacher inspiring you to go to art school.
