Be Our Tattooed Guest: Alexandra + Seize the Book

Welcome to Be Our Tattooed Guest, an original feature here on Beauty and the Bookshelf! This feature is all about tattoos of the literary, poetic, and bookish variety, and people showing them off! To learn more about Be Our Tattooed Guest, please go here.

Today's guest has a tattoo with some carpe--but not necessarily some diem.

Alexandra

DesignA fancy, scripty 'Carpe librum' done in such a manner as to have a couple almost infinity symbols playing off the letters. It's magical.

StorySo I reeeeallllly wanted to get a tattoo and I love books a lot. Like a lot a lot. For me books are an escape from the crazy and stressful world of engineering school (like for real, why did I torture myself with that career path) and when I read I can escape into a new world and forget all of those horrible things that I learn about engineering that make me not want to fly in an airplane or drive a car. So since I often make grabby hands and seize every book I can get my hands on, I thought it only fitting to rework the traditional 'Carpe diem', seize the day, tattoo & instead opt for a more appropriate 'Carpe librum', seize the book, tattoo because that is exactly what I do. (Sidebar: Now that I have one, tattoos are insanely addicting & I am eagerly looking forward to getting more amazing book-related tattoos in the future! =D)

Thanks for sharing your tattoo and being our tattooed guest, Alexandra!

Do you have a tattoo of the bookish, literary, or poetic variety? (Basically, if it has anything whatsoever to do with books, it works!) Would you like to be our tattooed guest? We'd love to have you! All you have to do is fill out this form and then you're on the guest list!
