ARC August: The Reading List

I'm sure we all know by now that I am horrible at readathons. I try to bite off way more than I can possibly chew (or read) and end up getting not a whole lot chewed (or read) (see also: Why does my desire to read seem to decline when it's summer?!). Yet here I am, signing up for another readathon. But hey, practice makes perfect, and I need to tell and teach myself that yes, Rachel, you CAN read x amount of books in a month and be successful at a readathon. And also, I have many ARCS that need to be read.

Fortunately, Octavia at Read.Sleep.Repeat has come to the rescue with a readathon. (And it's kind of funny, because I was thinking about all the ARCs I needed to read in August and then bam--I saw a tweet about what she was doing!) Enter ARC August, which is exactly as it sounds: reading ARCs in August.

And here's me, once again biting off more than I can chew (aka, what I hope to read, in a tentative list):

-Finish Wild by Alex Mallory (I fell behind on this, oops!)
-Evil Fairies Love Hair by Mary G. Thompson
-The Gateway Through Which They Came by Heather Marie
-Amity by Micol Ostow
-The Zoo at the Edge of the World by Eric Kahn Gale
-The Jewel by Amy Ewing
-Of Monsters and Madness by Jessica Verday
-Vampires of Manhattan by Melissa de la Cruz
-Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
-Killer Instinct by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (I am NOT waiting until November to read this.)

I have many, many, many ARCs to get read, with past, future, and just-around-the-corner release dates. The above is what I HOPE to get read, but it really all depends on my mood. So we'll just have to wait and see what I get read (I'm striving to do well)!

Big thanks to Octavia at Read.Sleep.Repeat for putting ARC August together! Be sure to follow along on Twitter and all that with #ARCAugust! And definitely use that hashtag on August 4th at 8:00 p.m. EST, because there's going to be a Twitter chat (aka PARTAY)!

What ARCs are you hoping to get read in August?

  1. I'm so excited about this readathon! I'm so behind on ARC reviewing, so I thought joining would give me the motivation to get a bunch of the read. I'll also be reading Amity (haven't read much horror, so we'll see how it goes). And I really liked Of Monsters and Madness, so I hope you do too. :)

  3. I am the exact same way! I fail at readathons AND challenges but ARC August is as low pressure as it gets! Each book finished is one book off the list and that's the main thing right?! So HAVE FUN and good luck!
