Top Ten Tuesday (89)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

This Tuesday's theme is...

Top Ten Book Cover Trends

(I was having computer problems, hence why this wasn't up earlier like it should've been!)

It's very hard not to judge a book by its cover. When browsing books, covers are the first things we see, what draw us in. Some are hits, some are misses--but to each their own. Me, I'm drawn to some cover styles more than others. And here are ten of them!

Zoom zoom zoom, make my heart go boom boom

I like outer space, and I like pretty covers that are set in outer space and the sky.

Animals (that do not die)

I LOVE animals. So if there's one on the cover, then there's a good chance I'm going to be very interested in reading that book. More animals on covers (THAT DO NOT DIE), please

Who's that silhouette?

There's just something eye-catching about silhouette covers. Something is there, but you don't know what it looks like. Also, they make pretty (er, and interesting) covers.

Shouldn't this be
in a museum?

Some covers have an artistic quality to them, and that makes for some stunning pieces.

The Rainbow Rowell style

I just love her covers. So simple and pretty. (And they look great on bookshelves.)

Simply simple &
simply sophisticated

Simple covers: not too little, not too much--just right.

When covers look like this

I love the look of covers like these, especially those first three.

Pop! goes the color

A lot of covers are popping that are full of bright covers, and I love it! They're just so pretty! And when I'm browsing a shelf, they just pop out at me!

It's what's underneath
that counts

I love love love when a book has something hidden underneath the flap. LOVE. IT.

When covers in a series stay consistent and don't
change or mismatch

This is my favorite thing.
