Waiting on Wednesday (82)

Waiting on Wednesday
is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine
 that showcases upcoming releases
that people are very much anticipating.

I think we're all waiting on this, yes? And we'll all be hit in our feels? (But still, I'm pretty bummed that it's not about the characters from the first book.)

The second installment in the epic Starbound trilogy introduces a new pair of star-crossed lovers on two sides of a bloody war.

Jubilee Chase and Flynn Cormac should never have met.

Lee is captain of the forces sent to Avon to crush the terraformed planet's rebellious colonists, but she has her own reasons for hating the insurgents.

Rebellion is in Flynn's blood. Terraforming corporations make their fortune by recruiting colonists to make the inhospitable planets livable, with the promise of a better life for their children. But they never fulfilled their promise on Avon, and decades later, Flynn is leading the rebellion.

Desperate for any advantage in a bloody and unrelentingly war, Flynn does the only thing that makes sense when he and Lee cross paths: he returns to base with her as prisoner. But as his fellow rebels prepare to execute this tough-talking girl with nerves of steel, Flynn makes another choice that will change him forever. He and Lee escape the rebel base together, caught between two sides of a senseless war.

The stunning second novel in the Starbound trilogy is an unforgettable story of love and forgiveness in a world torn apart by war.

I've gotta ask: what do you think of this cover (and in comparison to These Broken Stars)?

  1. I'm SOOOOOOOOOO excited for this book!!! But honestly, I'm... not super in love with the cover... =S I feel like their outfits look awful against the orange and purple background :X

  2. New follower here!

I am yet to read the first book in this series, but I have heard only great things. I agree with Nikki, the outfits don't stand out against the orange background on the cover - but it's still very stiking.

Check out my WOW post this week!

  3. Sadly, I haven't read These Broken Stars yet. :( I have it, but I just haven't had the time for it. I absolutely love the cover of the first book. This cover, though, I'm a little torn. The colors are really pretty, but the bodies look awkward. So, I'm kinda "eh" about the it.

  5. I love the colors, but the people looks a bit awkward/stiff/weird-ish. I can't wait to read the book though, so great pick! :)

  7. I'm really excited to read this book too! I have to admit I'm not the biggest fan of the cover. I love the background colors but the couple just really looks uncomfortable and awkward. Also, their clothes should be some other color. The colors don't pop out like with the first book.
Still, I'll be reading this when it comes out!
    Lovely pick! :)

  8. I...am so not impressed by that cover. Especially compared to the gorgeousness of These Broken Stars. Nope. And, I am seriously disappointed that it's not to with the original characters, I kind of really hate when series' do that. Make you fall in love with the characters and then...that happens. Grrr. :( I still can't wait for it though,, (well, we'll see.)

  11. As much as I loved the cover on the first book, I love this one even MORE! IT's absolutely gorgeous :) The dress from the last one seemed a tad out of place to me (as pretty as it was!) and I love the orange/pink colours - so pretty!

I still need to read this series, but it sounds perfect for me - Glad to hear your excited for the next book!

  12. I am DEFINITELY waiting on this. I can't say I'm a big fan of the cover (it has a bit of a fan-made feel to it), but I feel like it will be one that will grow on me. Regardless, I'm excited about the book. :)
