April Showers Bring May Flowers

Can you believe April's already over and it's May?! Holy schmokes! And while April did have its ups and downs, there are some PRETTY AWESOME things happening in May, so let's have the sun shine in and say adios to the rain!

I've been hit by the book slump bug, but I'm getting better, I think! However, like last month, I only read and finished three books. And they may have all been in like the last ten days of April...

-If I Stay by Gayle Forman
-The Taking by Kimberly Derting
-We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

Also, I'm currently reading like a million books, SO.

-Angelfall by Susan Ee: Weee, I loved this!
-The Taking by Kimberly Derting: Addicting and...aliens?
-The Break-Up Artist by Philip Siegel: Fun, but fell flat.

Best Book of the Month
Thoughts when I finished it: What. Did. I. Just. Read.

Book Haul
This is my first ever vlog so, you know. It's awkward. And horrible, oh gosh.

Weekly Posts
This month I shared what books and authors got me into reading and some bookish things I would like to own (pretty please with a new book on top). Also, if you've ever wondered what characters could be also dogs (and maybe one cat), I made a list for you. And if you're a fan of The Walking Dead, here are some books you should read.

Other Posts
I've been a bad blogger this month, but I do have some awesome music recs for you and some book poetry!

I turned twenty-one! Woohoo! But I don't drink or anything so I did nothing except sit on the couch and watch TV and movies, so...yay?

I was a failure and didn't finish The Night Circus in time for book club, so that didn't happen. Buuut, I went to my first book signing in forever: the launch for Kimberly Derting's The Taking!

I also went to the Spring Fair (hence the pig picture at the top of this post--but don't ask me where they are now, because you don't want to know) and look! I had FRIED BUTTER! And it was actually good!

Now, what's next for May?

There are lots of books I'm hoping to get read in May, like a series finale, books for authors that are coming here, and review books, but we'll see what happens with my book slump!

New Releases
The three releases I'm looking forward to reading most are...

If Maxon and America do not end up together then SO HELP ME.

I have yet to read any of Morgan's books, but so many people are saying that this is SO GOOD and I want to know WHY.

(May 13, 2014)
I don't even know what to expect with this one.

Godzilla hits theaters this month and I AM SO EXCITED I WANT TO SEE IT SO BAD. You're excited, right? Because you so totally should be.

Okay, so, here are three Seattle events (that I can think of) that I'm going to this month.

Of the bookish variety (also, if you'd like me to get books signed for you, tell me ASAP, please!):

On May 15 I'll be seeing Mandy Hubbard (Fool Me Twice), Lindsey Leavitt (The Chapel Wars), and Emery Lord (Open Road Summer)!

And then the Story Crush Tour brings Kiera Cass (The One), Kevin Emerson (Exile), and Amanda Maciel (Tease) here on May 23!

As for non-bookish events, well, THIS is happening of the movie variety...

Best $25 I ever spent!

Now, my friends, it's on to May we go! Farewell, April. Thanks for all the books!

  1. I'm going through a bit of a slump, too--and am also reading a million books which I'm not really getting in to. I'm hoping it goes away soon. Happy birthday! I'm sure it feels nice to be 21 even if you don't drink. Cool that you went to The Taking event. That book is getting great reviews and I enjoyed her Body Finder series. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed We Are Liars. I plan on starting that this weekend. Great post!
