Top Ten Reasons I Love
Being A Blogger/Reader

Why do I love being a blogger and reader? Let's start with the easy one: friends. I have met SO MANY people through blogging, it's ridiculous (in a good way). Whether they're local and I've met them or I only know them through the internet, there are so many bloggers and readers that I consider my friends. (My brother and sister constantly argue about the sketchiness of having online friends, but WHATEVER.) And not only are these people--you--my friends, but they're my kind of people. YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND ME. YOU GET ME. When I'm at home and FREAKING OUT over a book, my family looks at me like I'm crazy (and I am). But when I'm FREAKING OUT on the internet, you all nod your heads because you TOTALLY UNDERSTAND. And that makes you my kind of people.

The blogger life (which chose me, like thug life) has led me to discoveries, books I may have never known existed--and, therefore, never read--otherwise, and for that I am so grateful. I wouldn't know about so many wonderful books, and that in itself is a huge tragedy. I've also had lots of opportunities through blogging, like going to ALA Midwinter, reading some books early (admit it, that's super cool, and I never knew ARCs existed pre-blogging), going to fun events, etc. It's so great, and I just love it. Plus, everything is so fun!

Being a blogger and reader has also introduced me to myriad authors, some of whom I also consider as friends. I love authors, even though they sometimes like to kill me. They create these worlds that I live in, full of characters that I love and stories that I am fully invested in. Seriously, many characters (and worlds) are SO REAL to me, and it's easy to forget that they're fictional (because, let's face it, in my world, they're REAL). Some people think books are stupid, or that they're meaningless and can't convey emotions or whatever. FALSE. Books are my life, and that will never, ever change. Without them, I would probably die, and if I wasn't a blogger or reader, I wouldn't know about so many books I have come to just LOVE.

And last but not least, the reason I am a blogger and reader, the center of my universe, the reason I do what I do, the love of my life: books.

  2. I was almost moved to tears by how you put the world of books into words. The worlds authors portrait feel real to me too, and I couldn't be happier to be getting chances to experience them as well. I loved your post and will from now on be an invested follower!

  4. YES to all of this. There are so few people in my life who "get it" when I freak out over a book. But online, EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS. <3333 Also, yes -- books. Just... books.
