This Tuesday's theme is...
Top Ten
Books I Read In 2013
Oh look, it's the topic I've been dreading all year: my favorite books of 2013. And only ten?! Obviously, I'm going to cheat, because I can't possibly list just ten, especially when I read more than ten great books this year!
I did, however, participate in the Class of 2013 YA Superlative Blogfest, where I shared what books are the Head of the Class, who wins in a Popularity Contest, my favorite Elements of Fiction, and all the bookish components that make up the Best in Show. (Be sure to stop back here on New Year's Day. I'll have my End of Year book survey posted!)
And now, without further adieu, here are my top books of 2013 (in alphabetical order)!
These are all the books released in 2013--not before, not after. I don't know if I'd say that they're all actually my favorites of 2013. But these are thirteen books that I felt needed mentioning.
The One That Ended
My Favorite Series
[Review]
A well-done, worthy, satisfactory finale to a series I never want(ed) to end.
The One Leading Up
To The One
[Review]
This book was a roller coaster of awesomeness and feels.
The One "How To"
You Should Read
[Review]
SO GOOD.
The One With
An Angel Apocalypse
I just got into this series and am happy that the hype does not disappoint.
The One Where You Should
Follow (Read) The Rules
[Review]
I quite liked this one, and I think that like just continues to grow.
The One That's One Of
The Best Series Finales, Ever
[Review]
THIS is how you end a series (and stay true to the books and keep the love of the series).
The One Where I Wanted
To Throw The Book
Current Status: In a book hangover because of this. See also: CHAOLLL.
The One Where I Don't
Know Which Guy I Prefer
[Review]
I have a feeling Ignite Me is going to be hot, amazing, and cruel.
The One Whose Hand
You Want To Hold
[Review]
This is one of my absolute favorites of the year, and there's a reason everyone's talking about it.
The One That's Maddeningly Good
[Review]
I think I threw this when I finished it.
The One That's
Totally, Wildly Quotable
[Review]
I don't often put quotes in my reviews, but this one's filled with them.
The One That's Too Stinkin' Cute
[Review]
MUST READ ALL KASIE WEST BOOKS.
The One That's My
Favorite Book Of 2013
[Review]
L-O-V-E.
Some notable books released before 2013!
There's something about this that's done well and is just so good.
[Review]
Okay? Okay.
[Review]
I liked this a lot more than I thought I would.
[Review]
I loved this a lot pre-The Book That Shall Not Be Named, but even though it's ruined, it's still getting mentioned.
[Review]
I don't think you've read anything like this.
I've only read a couple books so far that are releasing in 2014, and of those couple, only one has been a standout.
EXCELLENT.
There you have it! Some of my most notable books of 2013, with Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell being my favorite. And oh gosh...just imagine what bookish goodness 2014 is going to bring us!
Happy New Year!
I really enjoyed The Elite and The Distance Between Us too, and I am so excited to read Cress! :) My TTT list: http://aliceinreaderland.com/2013/12/30/13/

I love how you did your list! Lots of great books this year (several of yours are on mine as well!).
ReplyDeleteAlso, Warner + Juliette. Duh.
I agree with the above comment: WARNER + JULIETTE!!! So excited for Ignite Me.
ReplyDeleteI haven't ready any of your favourites but I have FAULT IN OUR STARS waiting - I am just afraid of all the tears that I know will follow. Happy 2014! Just Reading for Fun
ReplyDeleteThe Distance Between Us is really just so cute! I love it :D
ReplyDeleteMy TTT :)
The Elite would have made my list too if there weren't so many other awesome books read this year. Seriously I wanted to throw that book and hug it at the same time. The wait for The One is a killer!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT List
Your list is great! I really wanted to put UNRAVEL ME on mine but I read it in 2012, so that was cheating to the max haha
ReplyDeleteI LOVED CRESS! I cannot wait for WINTER!
I have Angel Fall on my shelf and been meaning to read it! Really awesome list full of great books.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year :)
