Initial Reaction of Book in One Word: MAXON
The Prince was a great way to help satiate that need to read The Elite after reading The Selection. While it was short--it's a novella, and just a snippet of Prince Maxon's POV--it was really nice to see what goes on in Maxon's head and what he thinks of America, who isn't the average person looking to be with him.
There wasn't really anything I disliked about The Prince; I just wanted more. However, I did not like that other girl (see: synopsis). I hope to never ever see her again, and may Maxon's heart always be for America. Before I knew it, the book was over, and I was all "whaaat." Because I love Maxon, and I loved seeing what goes on inside his head. Even though we don't see much of him with America, we were able to see where his feelings started developing. Plus, Maxon has family problems. (The prince isn't perfect.) Sure, his mom is fine, but his dad is not my favorite person in the world at all. And thankfully Maxon isn't much like his father.
I can't really say much else about The Prince without describing the novella in its entirety, but if you like The Selection--or even if you didn't--this is a few pages that's worth reading. Especially if you're Team Maxon. If you're Team Aspen, well...I don't know what to say to you. (;
