Top Ten Books At The Top Of My Spring TBR List
Okay, so I cheated a little bit on this one. Picking only ten books is hard because there are SO MANY books on my spring TBR list. Therefore, I made two lists: ten ARCs from ALA Midwinter I want to read and ten books I own that I want to read. (They're sort of top tens--but it was really hard to pick what ten I want to read the most.) So here are TWENTY books toward the top of my spring TBR list!
ARCs
Light by Michael Grant
I started this series (the Gone series) years ago, and it's crazy that it's coming to an end. Every single book has been full of twists and turns, and Light is bound to be no exception. Really, I'm just expecting one giant mindfuck. (Pardon my French.) And I love that I have absolutely, positively no idea what to expect.
Dead Silence by Kimberly Derting
Ahhh, the end to a series I love dearly! I started The Body Finder series a few years ago and really liked it--it's a morbid subject (the MC can basically find dead people/animals, as well as who killed them) that's written in a way that doesn't make you feel all dark and depressed. Plus, there's Jay. *sigh*
The Elite by Kiera Cass
I'm reading this one super duper soon because I simply can't wait much longer. I just MUST know what's going to happen. Will Maxon pick someone over America? Will America choose stupid Aspen? I just want Maxon and America to live happily ever after, the end.
Burning by Elana K. Arnold
This book sounds awesome, mainly because it has something I don't see much of in YA: gypsies. So it's got gypsies--which sold me on this book--and what sounds like an awesome romance. Looking forward to it!
In Too Deep by Coert Voorhees
Not only does this sound like a fun, cute contemporary with equally cute romance, but it sounds similar to the idea of Fool's Gold. (You know, that movie that makes you ship Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson when they search for treasure.) It looks like something I'll enjoy, and I can't wait to dive into it. (Pun intended.)
Severed Hearts, Broken Hearts by Robyn Schneider
Technically, this book is The Beginning of Everything--new title just announced--and it's getting a new cover. Which makes me sad, because the original title and cover. Either way, it sounds like a good contemporary that will sever and break my heart.
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
I didn't love Shadow and Bone, but I did think it was really good. I'm hearing great things about the sequel, and the author has shared some very teasing teasers that make me want to read this sequel sooner rather than later.
The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen
It's SARAH DESSEN. No explanation necessary.
This Is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith
I wasn't a huge fan of The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, but I'm giving Smith another chance with this one; it just looks so stinkin' cute! Plus, it seems reminiscent of You've Got Mail, which I just LOVE. I hope this is really good!
The Program by Suzanne Young
Everything about this book sounds interesting: "In Sloane's world, true feelings are forbidden, teen suicide is an epidemic, and the only solution is The Program." This will probably be a lot darker than I'll expect it to be, but either way I want to read it.
Books I Own
The Darkness Rising trilogy by Kelley Armstrong
I liked Armstrong's Darkest Powers trilogy and have been itching to reread it. I don't have time for that right now, but I do want to get into this series, especially since I have all three books.
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
I'd like to read at least one of Clare's books before I (hopefully) meet her later this month, but I doubt that'll happen. Either way, I need to start this series. It's only talked about by EVERYONE.
What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen
Of all the books that Dessen has out, this is the only I haven't read. Shame on me! And I will not read The Moon and More before reading this, and I will definitely read this before she's in town next month. (!!!)
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
I already who dies in this book, thanks to spoilers. And to avoid spoilers, and to read what I've heard is an excellent book, I want to get this book taken of very, very soon. Plus, I haven't read Green yet!
Diva by Jillian Larkin
I love The Flappers trilogy and really want to know what happens in the last book; I can't believe I haven't read it yet!
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
I love vampires, and there's a ton of hype surrounding this series, so I should probably read it soon!
Cinder and Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
I LOVE fairy tales, so these books are right up my alley. Plus, I've met Marissa THREE TIMES and I still haven't read her books. Shame on me!
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
I've heard really, really good things about this book and really want to read it. Dystopian? Check. Hot boys? Check!
Falling for You by Lisa Schroeder
I'm a fan of all Schroeder's books, and I just can't wait to fall into her latest. (Seriously, her books are written in verse and they're just so amazing.)
All Things Rachel Caine
I have, like, over twenty books by Caine, but I haven't read them all. (Definitely read all the books in one of my favorite series, The Morganville Vampires.) This must change immediately!

Great books! I just finished The Vampire Academy series (read them all in one week), and they are really good. A bit overly detailed, but the romance and action are great!

Light is on my TTT list, too, I can't wait to see how it all ends. And The Elite as well, but I still need to read The Selection first - been meaning to get to that for quite a while.
ReplyDeleteThe Under the Never Sky series is so great, I hope you enjoy it!
Nikki @ There were books involved...
I have so many of the books you own and I still need to read all of them! I don't have the last Flapper book, but I have the middle one sitting on my shelf! I love those books! I picked the first one up in a Tesco when I was in Ireland over the summer!
ReplyDeleteI hated The Selection, but I strangely really want to read The Elite. I agree with lots of these and can't wait to get my copy of This Is What Happy Looks Like! Great list, hope you get to read them :)

OMG LIGHT! I didn't know you liked the Gone series too :] It's seriously in my top 5 favorite series'. It's just so freaking weird and amazing. I'm both excited and terribly saddened it's coming to an end.
