Top Ten Authors That I'd Put On My Auto-Buy List
Yes! A Top Ten Tuesday that isn't very difficult! This makes me happy, especially because I have several authors that I do with this. (I'm just hoping I have ten!)
Rachel Caine: After falling in love with her Morganville Vampires series, I wanted more from Caine, so I started her Outcast Season series. Now, I have just about all her books (I need to complete the Weather Warden series) and will keep buying all her books, because she's one of my absolute favorites.

Sarah Dessen: This doesn't really need an explanation, but if Sarah Dessen wrote it, I will buy it. (Of course, I own them all already.)
See: Along for the Ride, The Truth About Forever, This Lullaby
Stephanie Perkins: I love Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door, and I can't imagine not loving and not wanting anything else she writes.

Lisa Schroeder: I have all her YA books and will keep buying her YA books. They're written in verse, and they're all so wonderful. She's an author I'll always read.
See: Chasing Brooklyn, Falling For You, The Day Before
Kimberly Derting: I love her Body Finder series, and while I haven't read The Pledge books yet, I totally plan on doing so. Plus, she's a super cool local author.
See: The Body Finder, Dead Silence, The Last Echo, The Pledge, The Essence
Holly Cupula: This is another local author whose books I just devour. Plus, she always donates a portion of the proceeds to a cause that has to do with the book, which is wonderful.
See: Don't Breathe A Word, Tell Me A Secret
Stephenie Meyer: No explanation necessary. (Twihard forever!)
See: The Twilight Saga, The Host
Maggie Stiefvater: I already own two of her series and really liked The Wolves of Mercy Falls, plus her writing is really, really good. I'm sure I'll quite enjoy her other novels.
See: Scorpio Races, The Raven Boys, Wolves of Mercy Falls
Simone Elkeles: Gosh, I love her books. That is all.
See: Leaving Paradise, Return to Paradise, Perfect Chemistry, Rules of Attraction, Chain Reaction
Claudia Gray: To be honest, her books aren't my favorites. But I enjoy the stories, think she's awesome (do you follow her on Tumblr?), and already own pretty much all her books. So it only makes sense I buy the rest.

Which author's books do you always buy? Let me know!

Ok, all of these sound awesome and I've read a book by almost all of the authors you mention. I just forgot about some of them! Thanks for the reminder!

Rachel Caine is on my auto-buy list, too. I still need to try books of hers outside of the Morganville Vampires series, though! *shame on me*
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the authors on your list, but Perkins is calling my name.
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Literary, etc

Y'know, I don't think I've heard about Ms. Meyer in a while. Is she working on anything?

I agree about Meyer (come on, sequel to The Host!), but I couldn't get into Maggie Stiefvater -- her Shiver trilogy was just kinda "meh," and I haven't worked up the will to read anything else of hers.
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT for the week. Happy reading!
I was a little surprised I didn't see Stephenie Meyer on more lists. I didn't particularly like Twilight, but I genuinely enjoyed The Host.
