I have an ARC of this book and want to read it sooo bad! For one, it's set in the 80s. HOW COOL IS THAT? And, it sounds super duper cute. Like, Anna and the French Kiss cute. YES, PLEASE. (Add this to your radar. Do it.)

"Bono met his wife in high school," Park says.
"So did Jerry Lee Lewis," Eleanor answers.
"I’m not kidding," he says.
"You should be," she says, "we’re sixteen."
"What about Romeo and Juliet?"
"Shallow, confused, then dead."
''I love you," Park says.
"Wherefore art thou," Eleanor answers.
"I’m not kidding," he says.
"You should be."
Set over the course of one school year in 1986, Eleanor and Park is the story of two star-crossed misfits – smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you’ll remember your own first love – and just how hard it pulled you under.

I got a copy of this through Netgalley and I'm really looking forward to starting it-sounds cute and love the "historical" setting (I wasn't alive yet!)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds great! Somebody else had Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell as their WoW and that sounded good, too. I'll definitely have to check out this author.

I really wanted to read this one a while back but I lost it somewhere on my to-read list and completely forgot about it.. I should probably mark the release date.. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteCome check out my WOW post.
Oh, this one looks cute. And I still have not read Anna and the French Kiss. WHAT.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun meeting you at the ALA blogger meetup! (me: tall shy girl, pink sweater, walked back to the parking garage with you and Benji) That meetup was the first I've ever attended, and I totally had a blast talking with you and the group there.
P.S. Just read your review of The Madman's Daughter--which tale I am seriously terrified of reading--and had to say CHEERS on being a fellow friend of the semicolon and the emdash. There aren't enough of those in the world. ;)
I heard about this and fell in LOVE with it, wanting to devour it up. Seeing it again on here renews the impatience!
