Top Ten Tuesday (17)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

This Tuesday's theme is...

Top Ten Bookish Goals for 2013

1. Read all the books: Okay, not all of them. That's kind of (and unfortunately) impossible. But I'd like to read a lot of books that I want to read and have wanted to read.

2. Finish books: There may be a few (several) books that I've started but not finished--either partway through a series or through a book itself. I'd like to finish them all.

3. Keep on a schedule: Right now I try to post four days a week, with reviews twice a week. If I could keep that up, I'd be pleased.

4. Don't fall into a slump: I went into one of those last year. It wasn't pretty.

5. Review past books: There are books that I read pre-blog that I'd like to share my reviews of. This would be good to do when I need more reviews.

6. No fees at the library: Ha. Like that'll happen. I already have fees, and I just paid them off. But if I could keep it under five dollars, that'd be nice.

7. Read books I own: I'm getting much better at this, but it's always harder to read the books I own when ARCs have release dates and library books have due dates.

8. Read an author's book before meeting them: I hate meeting an author and not being able to discuss their book(s). I've met Marissa Meyer two times and I still haven't read Cinder. This is something that I want to do for me, but for them, too.

9. Blog: Keep it up, Rachel.

10. Write: I have several ideas living in my head (and they constantly come even more alive when I listen to music) and I'd like to let them out.

What are your bookish goals for this shiny new year? Tell me in the comments!

  2. READ CINDER! So amazing, and so jealous that you've met Marissa Meyer! Great list!

  3. I went into a reading slump last year, too. Ugh. I don't know how to avoid them but I think if I allow myself to make more choices and not just read what I think I "must" will help. Good luck.

  4. I've been seeing #7 on so many lists -- mine included! I need to cool it with the library books and read what I already have. It's hard, though, when there's so much NEW NEW NEW all the time. Great list. Good luck!

  5. Your goals are great! I REALLY need to read books I already own as well. I think that will be much easier for me this year, though.

Good luck with all your goals! :)

  6. I agree with the library fee goal! As long as they don't send me to collections, I am good to go. I also fell into a slump at the end of last year and am trying to figure out how to avoid them in the future. Good luck with all your goals!

  8. Great goals. These are some good ones for me to take on as well. And I totally feel you on #6. I have one that I have been meaning to return for a couple of months now. (Awful, right? I just keep forgetting about it.

  9. Ahhh, definitely read Cinder! It's so good and you'd be right on time with Scarlet's release right around the corner. You won't regret it. I really want to have a regular posting schedule and I'll hopefully be planning that out soon. Good luck with your goals and thanks for stopping by!

  10. "Read Books I Own" is one of the biggest goals for me this year. Good luck with all of your goals!

  11. I am trying to settle into a scheudle of some sort too. Do you write posts before hand? It is so hard not to fall in a slump--I know I did last year too. I think it is natural for all of us to go through one at some point. I have read books I own on my Top Ten List too. Good luck and Happy Reading! :)

  12. I know what you mean about library fees. I used to rack up tons (though it didn't help that my sister would check out movies which were $1 per day <_<) until they got digital and sent e-mail reminders that books were almost due. Now I keep on top of it, so I hardly ever get late fees.

Reading my own books is also a huge goal of mine this year. Doesn't help when I take on other challenges that go against that... Ah well, we'll see what happens ;)
