Top Ten Bookish Goals for 2013
1. Read all the books: Okay, not all of them. That's kind of (and unfortunately) impossible. But I'd like to read a lot of books that I want to read and have wanted to read.
2. Finish books: There may be a few (several) books that I've started but not finished--either partway through a series or through a book itself. I'd like to finish them all.
3. Keep on a schedule: Right now I try to post four days a week, with reviews twice a week. If I could keep that up, I'd be pleased.
4. Don't fall into a slump: I went into one of those last year. It wasn't pretty.
5. Review past books: There are books that I read pre-blog that I'd like to share my reviews of. This would be good to do when I need more reviews.
6. No fees at the library: Ha. Like that'll happen. I already have fees, and I just paid them off. But if I could keep it under five dollars, that'd be nice.
7. Read books I own: I'm getting much better at this, but it's always harder to read the books I own when ARCs have release dates and library books have due dates.
8. Read an author's book before meeting them: I hate meeting an author and not being able to discuss their book(s). I've met Marissa Meyer two times and I still haven't read Cinder. This is something that I want to do for me, but for them, too.
9. Blog: Keep it up, Rachel.
10. Write: I have several ideas living in my head (and they constantly come even more alive when I listen to music) and I'd like to let them out.

I so agree with #3. I need the organization. Feel free to come by and View My TTT
ReplyDeleteREAD CINDER! So amazing, and so jealous that you've met Marissa Meyer! Great list!
ReplyDeleteI went into a reading slump last year, too. Ugh. I don't know how to avoid them but I think if I allow myself to make more choices and not just read what I think I "must" will help. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteAnne @ My Head is Full of Books
I've been seeing #7 on so many lists -- mine included! I need to cool it with the library books and read what I already have. It's hard, though, when there's so much NEW NEW NEW all the time. Great list. Good luck!

Your goals are great! I REALLY need to read books I already own as well. I think that will be much easier for me this year, though.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all your goals! :)
My Top Ten
I agree with the library fee goal! As long as they don't send me to collections, I am good to go. I also fell into a slump at the end of last year and am trying to figure out how to avoid them in the future. Good luck with all your goals!
ReplyDeleteGreat comments! I totally feel ya for #1. I want to read all the books too. But alas, I had to set a goal of 50. :D

Great goals. These are some good ones for me to take on as well. And I totally feel you on #6. I have one that I have been meaning to return for a couple of months now. (Awful, right? I just keep forgetting about it.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, definitely read Cinder! It's so good and you'd be right on time with Scarlet's release right around the corner. You won't regret it. I really want to have a regular posting schedule and I'll hopefully be planning that out soon. Good luck with your goals and thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDelete"Read Books I Own" is one of the biggest goals for me this year. Good luck with all of your goals!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to settle into a scheudle of some sort too. Do you write posts before hand? It is so hard not to fall in a slump--I know I did last year too. I think it is natural for all of us to go through one at some point. I have read books I own on my Top Ten List too. Good luck and Happy Reading! :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about library fees. I used to rack up tons (though it didn't help that my sister would check out movies which were $1 per day <_<) until they got digital and sent e-mail reminders that books were almost due. Now I keep on top of it, so I hardly ever get late fees.
ReplyDeleteReading my own books is also a huge goal of mine this year. Doesn't help when I take on other challenges that go against that... Ah well, we'll see what happens ;)
My Top 10 Goals
No.7 is my downfall as well!
ReplyDeleteHaha. I have #3 on my list, too. iCalendar is your friend.
